I work in the area of mathematical general relativity; I am primarily interested in relativistic initial data (solutions of the Einstein constraints). Projects currently in progress and / or projects which I recently completed fall into one of the following two categories:

  • Investigation of relativistic point particles, and the extent to which continuous matter models can be realized as a limit of discretized point-particle configurations.
  • Conformally compact asymptotically hyperbolic initial data satisfying the shear-free condition at the conformal boundary. Note: this condition is necessary in order for the space-time evolution of the data to permit Scri.
